How I collect your data
I collect and store your data anytime you fill a form on my website. A form can be of any kind: “Contact Form,” “Questions Form,” “Subscription Form” etc. The information I collect is stored on my server—except any credit or debit card details you enter anywhere. The data I collect can be used in many ways:
- To connect with you for helping you to solve a problem you came for.
- To send you mails regarding your password reset, your order, payment reminders, newsletters, or any important communication.
- To improve my website to better serve you.
Comments
When you post comment on our site, I collect the information you fill, your IP address, and browser’s user agent to help protect from spamming.
An anonymized string—a hash—is created from your email address and sent to Gravatar service to see if you use this service. And if you use, your profile picture will be fetched and displayed alongwith your comment if it gets approved. You can access Gravatar service privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics to analyze site traffic. You can read about their policies here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services.
Cookies
When you leave a comment on my site, some information is saved in cookies for helping you not entering same information next time you comment. The information being saved is: “your name,” “email address,” and “website.” These cookies will last for one year.
A temporary cookie is set when you visit out login page. This helps determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
After you log in, I also set many cookies that contain login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” while loggin-in, your login will persist for two weeks. Logging-out of your account will remove all login cookies.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if it’s being visited directly.
These websites may also collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction.
How long I retain your data
The comment you leave and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This helps me recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on my website, I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Who I share your data with
I don’t sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to any outside parties. This doesn’t include our hosting service provider, or any other party that help us operating my website—only when they agree to keep it confidential. I may also release your information when it’s appropriate to comply with the law, or protect my or others’ rights, property, or safety. Non personal data may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request for an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request to erase any of your personal data I hold. This doesn’t include any data I are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Media
You should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included on this site. Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on this website.
